Profile of Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Ahmed INUSA

H.E. Mr. Ahmed INUSA arrived Brussels on 20th April, 2018 to assume duties as Ambassador at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria accredited to the Kingdom of Belgium.

Amb. Inusa is a career diplomat from Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.  He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, and graduated in 1982 with a BSc in International Studies before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria in 1984 to begin a career as a Foreign Service Officer.  Both at home and abroad, he has served in many capacities and has attended several international conferences.  His overseas postings include the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, New York; Embassy of Nigeria, Budapest, Hungary; High Commission of Nigeria, Yaoundé, Cameroon, and High Commission of Nigeria, London, United Kingdom.  While in New York, he attended four United Nations General Assembly Sessions, mainly covering the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural).

Ambassador Inusa was the Director of the African Union Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2015. He was later deployed as the Director, Posting and Passages Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.   Before his appointment as the Ambassador to Belgium, he served briefly as the Director First United Nations Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.

In addition, Amb. Inusa has been a beneficiary of some scholarship awards, including Pope John Paul VI for a master’s degree in government and politics at Saint John’s University of New York; and the British Chevening for Diplomatic Studies at the Foreign Service Programme, University of Oxford, England. 

Amb. Inusa is happily married to Salamatu and has a daughter, Amina.
